Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation - Piper Professor


Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation is a non-profit, charitable corporation focused on post-secondary education in Texas. Annually, it honors 10 Piper Professors from across Texas (not restricted to health professions) for their dedication to teaching in addition to outstanding academic, scientific, and scholarly achievement. The awardees receive honorarium of $5,000. Minnie Stevens Piper is an award that requires institutional endorsement before candidates can be advanced for consideration by the organization. The typical timeline for submission is September through October.

Requirements

  • Complete a form with teaching philosophy, accomplishments, reflection
  • Up 5 Letters of Support

Criteria and Selection

Evaluates teaching load, administrative responsibilities, sponsorship, membership, off-campus community service, evidence of teaching effectiveness, reputation, effectiveness as a scholar, and contribution made to the achievement of the purposes of the Institution.

Up to 1 candidate may be advanced to the MSPF review committee.
