The Health Education Center (HEC) is celebrating the arrival of its new LifeCast manikin! Earlier this year, the McKesson Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to purchase the manikin.
"This manikin offers tremendous training value. The Lifecast Manikin is designed with weight distribution similar to a real human, making her ideal for practicing safe patient transfers," says Katie Branch, PhD, MSN, RN, FNAP, CHSE, Vice President of Interprofessional Education and the HEC.
The manikin can also be used to support training in intubation, urinary catheterization, and manual breast exams, as she includes breast anomalies for clinical practice. We are excited for this opportunity to enhance the training experience for our clinical learners!
