UTMB has received Joint Accreditation for
Interprofessional Continuing Education, placing us among a select group of
organizations that meet the highest standards for team-based education. With
Joint Accreditation, IPCE can now provide continuing education credits for a
broad range of health professionals including physicians, physician assistants,
nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and social workers.
In addition, IPCE offers services to assist
with applying for CE approval for other professions such as respiratory
therapy, physical therapy, and clinical laboratory science through their
respective national and state associations. Moving forward, all Continuing
Medical Education (CME) activities will now be coordinated through IPCE,
ensuring consistency, compliance, and excellence across all programs.
This achievement reflects our commitment to
delivering high-quality, collaborative learning that improves health care
outcomes. Thanks to Erin McGoff, DProf, MSc, BSc, PGCE,
MC SP, HCPC, SFHEA, Director of IPCE, and Katie Branch, PhD, MSN, RN, FNAP,
CHSE, Vice President of Interprofessional Education and the Health Education
Center (HEC), for their leadership around this effort.
