March 2026 Message from the Senior Vice President, Provost, and Chief Academic Officer, UTMB

Dear colleagues,

At UTMB, we are proud to offer impactful career development programs that foster faculty growth and strengthen collaborative practice. I want to highlight two recent achievements that further amplify this impact: UTMB’s attainment of Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education and the launch of our Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE).

Under the leadership of Dr. Erin McGoff, the IPCE office partners with faculty and program leaders to support the certification of high-quality continuing education activities aligned with national best practices and regulatory standards. The office encourages interprofessional learning where appropriate, while also accrediting single-profession educational activities, and awards CE credit to recognize meaningful professional engagement.

With Joint Accreditation, IPCE now offers continuing education credits not only for physicians, but also for nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, social workers, and dieticians. The team is also expanding credit-earning opportunities by coordinating with accrediting organizations for physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, and clinical laboratory sciences.

We are excited to expand educational experiences that bring health professionals together to learn and grow as teams. I encourage you to explore more about IPCE in this edition and visit the IPCE website to learn about upcoming opportunities that support your goals.

Sincerely yours,
