Mental Health Month Wellness Activities

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Office of Wellness invites you to More Good Days, Together,  a month-long series of free activities and sessions every week in May, hosted in partnership with OLLI and Bent on Healthy Living Wellness Center.

Open to all UTMB faculty, staff, and students, regardless of fitness level or experience. Please plan to participate as your work or school schedule allows.

Every Wednesday in May, the Office of Wellness and Bent on Healthy Living Wellness Center invite you to begin your morning grounded, outdoors, and at the edge of the Gulf. It is a small investment in yourself that aligns with everything More Good Days, Together is about…. showing up, breathing, and finding moments of restoration before the demands of the day take over. Bring a mat or beach towel and water. Donations are welcome and will benefit the Galveston Island Humane Society.

In partnership with OLLI at UTMB, the Office of Wellness is offering a morning yoga class to start you day with mindful movement. Starting with somatic floor sequences to mobilize tissues, lubricate joints and enhance sensory awareness, then classic yoga postures to stabilize and strengthen muscles, joints and connective tissues. You’ll stretch, strengthen, ease tension, and improve range of movement and balance, along with breathwork and meditative practices to enhance well-being both on and off the mat. This class is held at Osher Lifelong Living Institute and is open to all UTMB faculty, students and staff. Class is suitable for all levels. Please plan to participate as your work or school schedule allows.
