The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is pleased to share progress on the development of UTMB’s SACSCOC Reaffirmation Report. Over the past several months, we have worked closely with the leadership and staff of the Moody Medical Library to complete narratives and supporting documentation for Standards 11.1, 11.2, and 11.3, which collectively address library and learning/information resources. A final review of this section is scheduled for August.
Standard 11.1: Library and Learning/Information Resources requires institutions to provide adequate and appropriate library and learning/information resources, services, and support for their mission. This standard demonstrates how library collections, databases, services, and other learning resources support teaching, research, and student success.
Standard 11.2: Library and Learning/Information Staff focuses on ensuring there are enough qualified professional and support staff with appropriate education and experience to support library and learning/information resources and help accomplish the institution’s mission.
Standard 11.3: Library and Learning/Information Access requires institutions to provide students and faculty with access to library services and resources, as well as regular and timely instruction in the use of library and other learning/information resources.
We appreciate the library team's commitment and partnership in documenting the critical role library resources, services, staff expertise, and instructional support play in advancing UTMB’s mission. Following the August review, this section will be finalized as part of the broader SACSCOC Reaffirmation Report development process.
