Tour de Blue Zones visits Nicoya, Costa Rica

Thanks to all who explored Nicoya, Costa Rica with us at the Aug. 12 faculty lunch! We enjoyed learning about the principles of longevity that make up the plan de vida for the residents of Nicoya, where the lifestyle supports a notable population of healthy centenarians. Attendees enjoyed a delicious and fresh meal and shopped for ingredients at our "farmer's market" to make a Blue Zones-inspired recipe at home. See photos from the event.

All faculty attendees were entered into a drawing for a catered Blue Zones-inspired meal for the winner and up to 10 colleagues. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Dr. Rebecca Galloway, Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health Professions.

Faculty members, save the date for the next stop on the Tour de Blue Zones: Wednesday, Nov. 18, when we tour Sardinia, Italy!
