A new Texas Medical Board (TMB) requirement will require physicians to complete one hour of continuing medical education in nutrition and metabolic health for applicable license renewals beginning in 2027. TMB currently applies the requirement to physician licenses expiring on or after May 30, 2027.
To help UTMB physicians prepare, the Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) is collaborating with the School of Health Professions’ Department of Nutrition Sciences & Health Behavior to support the development of a series of convenient, on-demand nutrition education activities designed to meet the new TMB requirement.
