Dena Bannan began her career at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in 1998 in the Health Education Department of UTMB Healthcare Systems, Inc. After a brief separation, she returned to UTMB in 2010 and served in various roles within the Office of the Provost before joining the Office of Faculty Development (OFD) in August 2024.
In her current role, Dena supports faculty development and engagement initiatives through the coordination of key programs, including Advancing Research through Mentorship (ARM). She provides executive-level support to OFD leadership, including strategic calendar management for Dr. Amanda Persons, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. Dena also plays a pivotal role in the planning and execution of faculty workshops and events, where her organizational expertise and attention to detail contribute to seamless operations and exceptional participant experiences.
