On August 25^th, IBHH Assistant Professor Dr. Stephen Molldrem published a commentary article titled “Predictive analytics in HIV surveillance require new approaches to data ethics, rights, and regulation in public health” in the journal Critical Public Health. Dr. Molldrem published the peer-reviewed paper with two of his collaborators – Anthony K J Smith of the Centre for Social Research in Health at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and Alexander McClelland of the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The paper builds on Dr. Molldrem’s program of research on the ethics and practice of HIV surveillance and prevention in the conjoined eras of digital public health, HIV treatment-as-prevention, and pathogen genomics.
