Learning objectives:

  • Identify the ethical issues raised by Baby M’s case.
  • Discuss some of the relevant considerations in this case in order to develop a medically appropriate and ethically supported recommendation regarding Baby M’s care.
  • Identify ways that the multidisciplinary team can work together to navigate cases of suspected non-accidental trauma in children.
