McKinney Serves on Genetic Selection Panel

The UTMB Health Institute for the Medical Humanities is pleased to share that faculty member Bernadette McKinney, JD, PhD served on a panel discussion genetic selection at the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Conference held at the Texas A&M University – Galveston campus in May.

Along with panelists Stephen Daiger, PhD, Lara Friel, MD, PhD, and Debbie Blakley, Dr. McKinney discussed the question, "Should parents be able to use genetic selection of modification to determine the traits of their children?"

The Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership is an organization that seeks to inspire and develop the global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.
