On October 17th, BHH Assistant Professor Dr. Stephen Molldrem presented a paper to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Science Studies program’s 2022-23 Colloquium Series titled "Against ‘Real-Time,’ for a Materialist Data Ethics in Biomedicine and Health.” The talk continues Dr. Molldrem’s line of research that uses approaches from the tradition of Western Marxism to rethink the politics of data use, labor-time, and efficiency in biomedicine, public health, and the health sciences. This topic will also be the subject of his upcoming presentations to the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities (2022) and Society for Social Studies of Science (2022) annual meetings in October and December, respectively.
