On November 11th, BHH Assistant Professor Dr. Stephen Molldrem participated in a late-breaking virtual session on “Monkeypox and Sexuality” at the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association (AAA). The session was convened and moderated by Dr. Emily Lim Rogers of Brown University and included Dr. Harris Solomon of Duke University and Dr. Joseph Osmundson of New York University. In the wide-ranging conversation, Dr. Molldrem and the other participants discussed issues at the intersection of queer pleasure in relation to pathogens and health, the weaknesses of the US healthcare system, and the possible futures of the ongoing global MPV outbreak concentrated among gay men and their sexual networks.
