Governance, Risk, and Compliance

The Governance, Risk, and Compliance team is responsible for establishing and maintaining the security governance framework that protects the organization’s information assets and supports regulatory compliance. This team's function provides centralized oversight through policy development, risk assessments, compliance management, and third‑party risk activities, ensuring security risks are identified, managed, and aligned with institutional, legal, and healthcare requirements.

Security Operations Center

The Security Operations Center is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s information systems, data, and critical healthcare operations through continuous monitoring, threat detection, and incident response. Operating 24/7, the soc provides centralized security oversight by analyzing alerts, managing vulnerabilities, and proactively hunting for emerging threats.

Operational Security

The Operational Security team is dedicated to safeguarding the UTMB digital ecosystem through advanced cybersecurity strategies and technologies. Our mission is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional data while enabling secure, efficient operations across all endpoints. We proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain a resilient security posture that supports the institution's academic, clinical, and research objectives.
