Visitors to Moody Medical Library may have noticed some changes to our public spaces. We are making a series of improvements designed to create more flexible, functional spaces for library users.
Recent work on the second floor included removing the large, built-in circulation desk and outdated, nonfunctional lighting, opening a significant portion of the floor for new seating and more flexible use. We have also added more mobile whiteboards on the second and third floors. Newly available items also include individual, rolling standing desks and mobile power outlet towers. Students can use these items anywhere in the building, feel free to move things around!
What’s Coming Next?
Over the coming months, library users will begin to see additional improvements, including:
Additional access to power outlets
Removal of outdated furniture and computer equipment
Laptop-friendly workspaces with dual monitors
Accessibility tools and resources available for checkout
Display monitors in study rooms
Artwork and updates to refresh the space
These improvements will give students and other library users more choices in how they use library spaces and resources.
We will continue making thoughtful updates that improve the library today while keeping our spaces flexible and adaptable for what comes next.
