Meredith Masel, PhD, MSW

Dr. Masel provides leadership and management of the Center. She sees the Oliver Center as an incubator for patient centered programs that make the experience of being a patient, care partner, and/or provider easier and safer. At UTMB, she holds an assistant professor-adjunct appointment in the School of Public and Population Health and uses this role for work such as her multi-site clinical trial with co-PIs at Dartmouth College and Vanderbilt University to study the feasibility and acceptability of audio recording during doctor appointments among older patients who have hypertension and diabetes.  See Dr. Masel's Curriculum Vitae (PDF).

Ms. Lindsey joined the Oliver Center in 2015 and provides support to ensure alignment of the center work within the Health System as well as support for our programs. She is a native Texan who loves to travel the U.S. running half marathons.  She has several running goals, one is to complete a half marathon in every state and the other she just completed by running her 100th half marathon here in Galveston. She is very family oriented and her pride and joy is her pet tortoise, Crush. In the Oliver Center, Laura's presence has provided us with energy, organization, and always a smile.
