| Calling all biosafety professionals, scientists, veterinarians, QA professionals, regulators, agency reviewers, sponsors, graduate students & others! The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Institutional Office of Regulated Nonclinical Studies (ORNcS) and the U.S. Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are pleased to announce the 2026 Achieving Data Quality and Integrity in Maximum Containment Laboratories course. This free education opportunity will take place April 20 – 24, 2026 in Galveston, Texas in the Levin Hall Dining Room. A virtual option is also available. Please note: In-person attendees are responsible for travel, hotel and related expenses. Course Description: This four and one-half day training program is offered annually utilizing expert faculty from the Food and Drug Administration, academia, and business and industry. The course includes laboratory activities conducted in mock Biosafety Level (BSL) 2 and BSL-4 training laboratories to emphasize the differences between biosafety levels and the complexity of conducting laboratory activities in a BSL-4 laboratory environment. NEW topics presented by outstanding faculty, including faculty from NASA, the NEIDL, Rhodium Scientific and more: 1. Use of AI for MCM Development 2. Applying GLP Principles to Studies Conducted on the International Space Station (ISS) 3. Assay Qualification and Validation 4. New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) 5.
