Can We Talk - Promoting Insight and Self-Improvement
With permission from the Vanderbilt Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy, the Professionalism Committee, the Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Physician Executive developed a workshop for the Clinical Chairs and Vice Chairs. The content of the training uses the principles from the Vanderbilt program, "Addressing Behaviors that Undermine a Culture of Safety". The training has been well received and is a logical progression of the workshops previously offered. The training is more interactive and involves practice session for having "a cup of coffee conversation." Drs. Mark Holden and Karen Szauter demonstrated a condensed version of the training for the Professionalism Committee at the October 20th meeting as a test run. The workshop will be offered to staff, students and faculty after the first of year.
