All Student Orientation August 21, 2017
Annually the Professionalism Committee is asked to present at the All Student Orientation to provide an overview of Professionalism within UTMB. Highlights include a brief description of the Professionalism Charter, how professionalism is embodied by UTMB's values, providing examples of unprofessional behavior, reporting incidents of disruptive behavior using the Professionalism Concern Note on line form, consequences of not reporting, and other reporting mechanisms. This year, Carolyn Coyle and Stephanie Vega, Student Representatives on the Professionalism Committee respectively from the School of Medicine and the Graduate School for Biomedical Sciences joined Dr. Mark Holden, Committee Co-chair, and Edna S. and William C. Levin Professor in Internal Medicine; Director, Division of General Internal Medicine; Vice Chair for Undergraduate and Continuing Medical Education, Department of Internal Medicine; Emeritus Scholar, John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine at the podium.
