Anne “Laurie” Looper joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in March 2022 as the Program Manager for Community Engagement and Education. Laurie works with a wonderful team of UTMB staff, student workers and community
partners to further our mission of developing meaningful educational opportunities for students that address health inequities in our community. She is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals while providing critically important
services to the community.
Prior to joining UTMB, Laurie worked as an educator in the public school system for 15 years as a science teacher and research mentor in a science magnet school. Her particular interest was in curriculum development. Earlier in her career, she worked
in the NASA Behavior and Performance Laboratory to create curriculum for astronaut and ground crew training.
Laurie is a graduate of University of Houston-Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science degree in behavioral science. She is a lifelong learner committed to continuous growth and improvement. Outside of work, Laurie enjoys many hobbies including competitive
birding and amateur photography.
