Lorraine Terrell Davis joined the ORNcS team in 2021 as a Training Specialist II. She is responsible for CE program and partnerships by overseeing continuing education processes for educational programs, academic partnerships and assisting with the coordination of the UTMB and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) collaborative non-clinical and clinical educational programs.  She serves as the department’s liaison to ensure that the programs meet the requirements for continuing education certification (medical, nursing, quality assurance and veterinarian). 

Ms. Davis’s previous position at UTMB was Conference Coordinator for the Office of Continuing Education.  With over 12 years’ experience, Ms. Davis facilitated continuing medical education certification for hundreds of educational courses sponsored by UTMB, outside universities, organizations and societies.  She worked closely with course directors and faculty by providing comprehensive conference coordination of medical education courses with the goal of increasing physician knowledge, performance and ultimately improving patient outcomes. 

Ms. Davis worked for more than 17 years as the executive director of a non-profit organization before joining UTMB.  She oversaw daily operations, program development, staff development for both paid and volunteer positions, marketing, community outreach, board development, and organizational expansion in this capacity. Her exemplary community involvement and leadership was recognized by the United Way, local government and community organizations.   

She holds bachelor's degrees in organizational studies and psychology from Pitzer College in California. 

Ms. Davis is a skilled project, meeting and event planner, and prides herself in providing exceptional customer service and helping those in need.  She is a member of Administrative Professionals Association (APA), Breakfast Club, EMERGE, Black Employee Resource Group and Women’s Resource Group at UTMB.
