Nicolette Ward, CSP, RBP

Nicolette “Nikki” Ward joined UTMB’s Department of Biosafety in 2012.  She provides biological safety guidance to both research and healthcare in her role as Lead Biosafety Professional. 

Nikki started her career at UTMB in 2005 working in a microbiology and immunology research laboratory.  This experience gave her the foundation to facilitate a transition into biosafety. For over 10 years she has managed the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).  Supporting the IBC has yielded extensive experience with pathogen research risk assessments.   

Nikki grew up in the corn fields of Illinois before moving to Texas.  She graduated from Texas A&M University at Galveston with a Bachelor of Science.  Upon graduation she decided living near the water in warm weather was the best path to happiness and has lived in the area ever since.
