Tasha Ri'card-Washington, MA, BS, RQAP-GLP, joined the UTMB family in December 2007. Ms. Ricard-Washington transitioned from a Senior Compliance Analyst and has served as Quality Assurance Unit Manager for the Institutional Office of Regulated Nonclinical Studies (ORNcS) since January 2011. Ms. Ri’card-Washington has over 25 years of quality assurance experience with an emphasis in the areas of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Quality System Regulations from governmental, private and university compliance environments. 

Ms. Ri’card-Washington’s educational background includes a Master of Arts in counseling education with an emphasis in mental health and a Bachelor of Science in biology with an emphasis in microbiology from Southern University and A&M College Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is a current member of the Society of Quality Assurance and is a registered Quality Assurance Professional in the GLP regulations (RQAP-GLP). She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  

Ms. Ri’card-Washington models her life after George Washington Carver quote, “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these”.  

Grounded in volunteerism and adapting to being an empty nester, in her leisure she reviews prospective college applications for first-generation students and seeks scholarship opportunities. Ms. Ri’card-Washington enjoys cooking, attending comedy shows, event planning and making memories with her husband and boy/girl twins.
