UTMB employees commuting to the Galveston Campus this weekend (and other motorists) should be aware of an upcoming closure of two southbound lanes along I-45 near the Texas City Wye. According to TX-DOT, the closure is scheduled to start Saturday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. and will last until Monday, Oct. 12 at 5 a.m. The work is part of a a long-term, ongoing project to widen I-45 to eight total lanes.
Employees, students and patients should check road conditions, allow additional travel time, and exercise caution when driving through the area.
