The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is launching a Seed Grant program to foster collaborative, interdisciplinary research projects in public health. The initiative aims to support cross-center collaborations by providing funding of up to $25,000 for data acquisition or secondary data analysis and up to $40,000 for other seed projects. The grants are directed toward initiatives addressing various public health issues, including disease prevention, aging, health disparities, and mental health. Eligible applicants, particularly those involving trainees and interdisciplinary teams across different UTMB entities, are encouraged to submit proposals by January 2, 2024, with the decision scheduled for January 19, 2024. The program emphasizes the importance of obtaining necessary approvals for projects involving human subjects or animal research by February 1, 2024, and highlights the expected outcomes, including peer-reviewed publications and externally funded grant applications.
