Piper Flowers, OTD, OTR, CHT, is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the UTMB School of Health Professions. She received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1993 and her post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2025. She also completed a Hand Therapy Fellowship Certificate from Texas Woman’s University and has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 2002.
Dr. Flowers has over 30 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy. Her clinical expertise is in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders with a specialty in upper extremity rehabilitation, orthotic fabrication, and hand therapy. She incorporates her extensive clinical experience into occupational therapy education with a focus on assistive technology, musculoskeletal interventions, and the occupational therapy framework.
