The Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Society (PTOTS) is dedicated to fostering collaboration, professional growth, and meaningful relationships between Doctor of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students at UTMB. Through interdisciplinary engagement, PTOTS aims to strengthen students' understanding of each profession's unique roles and contributions within healthcare while promoting a shared commitment to patient-centered care.
PTOTS provides opportunities for professional development, networking, service, advocacy, and social connection through educational events, faculty and clinician-led discussions, community outreach initiatives, and student socials. By creating a supportive environment for collaboration and innovation, the organization seeks to prepare future healthcare professionals to work effectively within interprofessional teams and improve outcomes for the individuals, families, and communities they serve.
Our goal is to cultivate a culture of mutual respect, leadership, and lifelong professional partnership between OT and PT students while creating opportunities for members to share ideas, build connections, and contribute to the future of rehabilitative care.
