Dr. Amber Mollhagen serves as Associate Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) School of Health Professions, bringing more than 25 years of experience in higher education leadership. She has led initiatives in student affairs, admissions, enrollment management, and student success, with a focus on creating supportive, student-centered learning environments.
Throughout her career, Dr. Mollhagen has secured state and federal funding to expand mentoring, training, and financial support programs for students. Before entering higher education administration, she practiced as a licensed social worker in healthcare settings, an experience that continues to shape her approach to student well-being, leadership, and collaboration.
Dr. Mollhagen is a recipient of the University of Houston's prestigious C.F. McElhinney Award, the institution's highest staff honor, and has been recognized nationally for her leadership and commitment to student success. She earned bachelor’s degrees in social work and Spanish from Texas Tech University, a Master of Social Work, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Houston. She is dedicated to helping students thrive academically, professionally, and personally as they prepare for careers in health professions.
