Erika L. Fuchs, PhD

Dr. Fuchs is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health at UTMB. As a social and behavioral epidemiologist, Dr. Fuchs studies demographic and socioeconomic predictors of and missed opportunities for prenatal and childhood vaccination. Using primarily electronic health records and administrative databases, she examines the uptake and perinatal and pediatric outcomes of recommended vaccines. Dr. Fuchs also participates in survey research to understand acceptability and decision-making regarding vaccines. The goal of this research is to develop successful, targeted interventions to increase vaccination.
