Tasnee Chonmaitree, MD

Dr. Chonmaitree is Professor of Pediatrics and Pathology. She is a pediatric infectious disease clinician whose research is focused on acute otitis media pathogenesis, virology, genetic and environmental risk factors. Her research work has been well recognized and funded by the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Chonmaitree also works in clinical/translational research education. She is the Co-Director of the Translational Research Scholars Program (TRSP) and Associate Director of Research Education, UTMB Institute of Translational Sciences. Dr. Chonmaitree serves on the Editorial Board of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, is listed in Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care and Who's Who in the World; she reviews for several scientific journals and NIH study sections/special emphasis panels. She received her M.D. from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Chonmaitree completed her pediatric residency at Lloyd Noland Hospital and University of Alabama in Birmingham. Her fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases was at the University of Rochester (Rochester, New York).
