UTMB Health Receives CHIME Digital Health ‘Most Wired’ Award

The University of Texas Medical Branch received a “Most Wired Award” for 2023 in acute care and ambulatory surveys conducted by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), a professional organization focused on health care information technology, for UTMB’s use of technology to improve patient care.

Among the hundreds of organizations surveyed by CHIME, UTMB ranked above its peers in categories such as clinical quality and safety, interoperability and population health, and infrastructure. The survey assessed the adoption, integration, and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development.

“This recognition by CHIME is about how UTMB Health leverages its technology solutions to improve clinical quality and patient safety. We are honored to receive this award and will continue to work with our physicians, nurses, and staff to implement technology so that UTMB can continue to provide the highest quality patient care,” said George Gaddie, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of UTMB Health.
