UTMB School of Medicine graduates in commencement regalia

John Sealy School of Medicine celebrated its MD program commencement June 1

 The John Sealy School of Medicine hosted its MD program commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 1, at Moody Gardens Convention Center.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Burke T. Bradley, an anesthesiologist who earned his medical degree at UTMB in 1990, and completed his internship and anesthesiology residency at UTMB before entering private practice. Affiliated with Houston Methodist Hospital for the majority of his career, he has performed more than 37,000 general and regional anesthetics. Dr. Cristiana Rastellini served as Senior Faculty Marshal, leading the faculty procession and holding the ceremonial mace. Dr. Rastellini is a Professor of Instruction in the Department of Neurobiology. She holds secondary appointments as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology.
