UTMB Angleton Danbury Campus welcomes interim administrator

Jessica Oliveira, a University of Texas Medical Branch employee since 2020, has taken over as interim administrator and assistant chief nursing officer at UTMB’s Angleton Danbury Campus.

The position, which had been held by Beth Reimschissel since 2018 until her departure in February, oversees operations at ADC.

“I feel honored and grateful to be tasked with such an important role in the organization,” Oliveira said. “I am eager to learn and grow as a leader, and the fantastic leadership team here at ADC and support from other executive leaders in the Health System gives me confidence to serve in this role."

Before taking on the interim position, Oliveira was the Women’s & Children’s service line director and interim radiology service line director at UTMB.

“With 15 years of nursing experience, Jessica has served in a variety of clinical and professional nursing roles,” said Stephen Jones, vice president of Regional Hospitals & Health System Strategy at UTMB. “She’s been a true asset to UTMB, and we’re excited that now she’s bringing her energy and expertise to this role.”

From 2008 to 2012, Oliveira worked as a staff/charge nurse in several specialty units, including pediatric oncology and pediatric intensive care at UTMB.

In 2012, she joined the Memorial Hermann Health System as an education resource specialist for a new pediatric medical-surgical/intermediate care unit. She then transitioned to the System Clinical Education Department and was promoted to manager in 2015.

In 2020, she was clinical director of a collaborative endeavor between Children’s Memorial Hermann and UTMB Health System that included opening a new pediatric medical-surgical/intermediate care unit at UTMB Clear Lake.

“ADC plays an essential role in the community it serves, and I am in awe of the breadth of work done to support the local areas,” Oliveira said. “The staff at ADC strive to provide meaningful education and resources to their communities through initiatives like ‘Doctors at the Dealership’ and participation in numerous local events such as the ‘BISD Baby Shower.’"

Oliveira is continuing her role as Women’s & Children’s service line director. Brian Fox, formerly with Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, took her place as radiology service line director earlier this month.
