Understanding the vital role faculty and staff members play in academic medical center performance, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) developed StandPoint™ Surveys to support medical schools’ efforts to attract and retain top academic scientists, educators, and clinicians.
We are pleased to report that UTMB will be embarking on this effort this year. All full-time and part-time faculty members will be invited to take part in the StandPoint Faculty Engagement Survey administered by the AAMC. We will concurrently conduct the StandPoint Staff Engagement Survey for administrative staff.
Your participation will allow us to assess firsthand what drives engagement at our institution. We will benchmark that information with peer institutions and use the results to provide training and learning opportunities that will make our institution an even more vibrant place for our faculty to work. Your survey responses will be kept completely confidential.
The Office of Faculty Affairs will provide you with additional information regarding the upcoming survey, launching the week of Jan. 28, 2025.
Every institution can find opportunities to improve, and UTMB is not an exception. We hope to refine our understanding of what drives employee engagement so we can target our improvement efforts most effectively. We hope you view our participation in StandPoint Surveys as a unique opportunity to contribute to furthering and strengthening our academic workplace in a way that ultimately will better support the valuable work you do.
