HEC Personnel Achievements

Katie Branch, PhD, MSN, RN, FNAP, CHSE, was awarded a $25,000 McKesson Foundation grant to purchase a Lifecast manikin for the Health Education Center.

The Lifecast manikins are highly accurate lifelike manikins made from 3D images of real people. The Lifecast manikin purchased for UTMB will be customized to aid learners in recognizing female breast disorders.

 

Kelly Grace, PhD, was awarded a 2024-2025 UT Shine Academy Small Program $5,000 grant for at collaborative IPE project hosted at the Health Education Center titled, "Artificial Intelligence Augmented Virtual Reality Simulations for Evaluating Interprofessional Education."

 

Richard Briley, M.Ed., CHSE, HEC Instructional Technologist, and Bruce Adcock, M.Ed., RRT, RRT-NPS, CHSE, Associate Professor of Instruction, Respiratory Care, were named Co-chairs of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s Virtual Reality Assessment Affinity Group.
