June 2025 Message from the Senior Vice President and Provost (Interim)

Dear colleagues,

A few of our schools and programs have recently held their commencement ceremonies, and I extend my sincere congratulations across the board! Our students’ success is a strong reflection of our faculty members’ hard work, expertise, and commitment. Your work here at UTMB is shaping the future in a myriad of important ways, and you should be very proud.

We look forward to celebrating with more of our students and faculty as the School of Health Professions and the Physician Assistant Studies program hold their commencements later this summer.

I hope you have marked your calendars for Sept. 4 for UTMB’s Second Annual Faculty Recognition Reception. We are extremely excited to celebrate the many impressive achievements of our faculty members throughout FY25 – from major grants and publications to new leadership roles and service. If you have not yet shared your achievements for recognition in the program booklet, please do so by July 1.

This event will also celebrate the 2025 Faculty Excellence Award and Lifetime Achievement Award winners. Our institution has a wealth of talent, with many worthy candidates for these recognitions. We look forward to sharing the winners very soon. Thank you to everyone who nominated their colleagues. Your support of one another and our programs helps to elevate our culture of excellence, appreciation, and recognition!
