I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer and looking forward to another successful and productive academic year! Although summer gives us time to take some well-deserved rest, it has not been without plenty of activity.
I would like to extend huge congratulations to Dr. Vineet Gupta and his team in the Office of Innovation and Commercialization, on an extremely successful inaugural VentureX Summit. I was inspired by the energy in the room as we heard from industry and government leaders and saw great engagement from our UTMB community – reflecting a strong interest in biotech innovation at UTMB. The Office of Faculty Affairs has also had tremendous success with its summer series, Preparing for Promotion, which will have its final installment this month. We have had an outstanding turnout for the three previous events and are pleased that so many of our faculty members are finding value in this programming. There are more leadership development offerings on deck for the coming months to help support your career goals.
Some of our educational programs have already welcomed new students, who are in excellent hands as they embark on their health care learning journeys. At the same time, we’re celebrating the achievements of our graduates from the School of Health Professions and the John Sealy School of Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Program. Congratulations to all the graduates and faculty whose dedication has made these milestones possible!
