The start of a new academic year always brings both energy and excitement. Congratulations to our faculty and graduates who participated in August’s commencement ceremonies! With orientations now complete across all schools and programs, we have officially welcomed a new class of students. I know you share my enthusiasm as we begin another successful and rewarding year.
Going into FY26, I am especially pleased to continue a tradition we began last year: our Second Annual Faculty Recognition Reception takes place this Thursday, September 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Levin Hall Dining Room. I warmly invite all faculty members to join us for this special celebration.
At the event, we will honor seven outstanding individuals with Lifetime Achievement and Faculty Excellence Awards, while also recognizing the many accomplishments of our faculty throughout FY25. These include new promotions and appointments, grant awards, leadership roles in professional organizations, and much more. Please enjoy this well-deserved celebration! Your contributions have elevated UTMB’s reputation locally, nationally, and globally.
