Every day, I’m inspired by the dedication and excellence of our faculty community. The tremendous turnout at our Second Annual Faculty Recognition Reception was a testament to that spirit. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate your achievements and those of your peers. The positive energy and feedback from attendees reaffirmed the value of this new tradition, and I look forward to building on its success in the years ahead.
We are excited to keep the momentum going with several upcoming opportunities to connect and engage. Our fall New Faculty Orientation will take place Oct. 23, and we encourage all UTMB faculty to attend. It’s a great chance to meet new colleagues, interact with leadership, and learn more about the resources and services available to support your work.
Please also save the dates for our upcoming faculty lunches: Oct. 8, Nov. 12, and Dec. 10. It’s been wonderful to see growing participation at these gatherings, and I hope that trend continues. These lunches offer a relaxed and meaningful way to connect with fellow faculty who share your commitment to education, research, clinical care, and innovation.
Since arriving at UTMB, I’ve been deeply committed to fostering a culture of appreciation and recognition for our faculty. Whether through my work in the Office of Faculty Affairs or now as Interim Provost, that commitment remains unwavering. It is truly an honor to serve and support such an exceptional community.
