The CLS Specialty Laboratory, housed within the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the School of Health Professions, successfully completed its CAP reaccreditation inspection on December 19, 2025, resulting in zero deficiencies and reaccreditation through January 2028.
This accomplishment reflects the lab’s ongoing commitment to excellence in highly specialized clinical testing, quality assurance, and patient care, and underscores a sustained culture of high performance and compliance. In support of UTMB’s academic health science mission, the CLS Specialty Lab also advances the School of Health Professions’ commitment to excellence in education, scholarship, and patient care by providing students with meaningful, supervised clinical experiences and real-world exposure to advanced laboratory practice within an accredited, high-complexity laboratory environment.
