Dr. Fuentes joined the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health in 2022 as a resident physician in training and now serves as an Assistant Professor and Faculty Physician at the Family Medicine Clinic - Island East. Dr. Fuentes earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at The University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Fuentes earned his Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and completed his residency here at The University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Fuentes is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Fuentes's academic and clinical interests include men's health and sports medicine.
