Family Medicine Welcomes New Residency Program Director

The Department of Family Medicine is excited to welcome their newest faculty member, Dr. Tricia Elliott.  Dr. Elliott joins Family Medicine as an Associate Professor and will lead the residency program as Director.  Additionally, Dr. Elliot will be the Medical Director for the Family Medicine Clinic at UHC. Dr. Elliott previously served as the program director of the Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program and Clinical Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, while practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rice University, her medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center Residency Program in Social Medicine.  She is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.  She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the Harris County Medical Society, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and Harris County Academy of Family Physicians, Society of Teachers in Family Medicine, Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, and the Medical Group Management Association. Dr. Elliott is the recipient of the John R. Kelsey, Jr., M.D. Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching, the Daniel C. Leicht, M.D. Award for Social Medicine for Outstanding Achievement, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians’ Exemplary Teaching Award and the Baylor College of Medicine Leonard D. Moise Teaching Award.  She serves on several commissions with the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and has also been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Elliott’s interests include residency education, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, women’s health, community medicine, patient education and health care advocacy.
