On Thursday, February 16th, 2023 the UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine hosted the 2nd Annual Women's Health Workshop, a collaboration between the Award Winning Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) and the Obstetrics Gynecology Student Society (OGSS). Both Family Medicine faculty and residents and OBGYN faculty and residents were on hand to teach over 45 medical students 7 different women's health procedures: Sonosite/Doptone, Nexplanon Insertion (IUD insertion), Cervical checks, Speculum and Pelvic exam, Breast exam, Contraception 101 and Vaginal Delivery. We would like to recognize the student leaders of this workshop, Shehani Jayawickrama, Emma Tomes, Christy Lee and Emma Rowlinson.
