A Personal Note from Dr. Pilgrim
I am originally from Minnesota and my entire family moved to
League City, Texas in 2005, when I was 10 years
old. I attended high school at Clear Creek, undergrad at Houston where I met my
wife, and medical school here at UTMB where we both graduated.
I always wanted to be what I viewed as a classical doctor.
During medical school I decided that I wanted to be in a primary care setting
and family medicine fit that mold for me, and its prospects continue to excite
me. Family medicine is an interesting, flexible, and dynamic specialty, one
that is also sorely needed.
What drew me to UTMB and encouraged me to
stay for residency was its community, its culture, the general feel of the
campus environment, and its proximity to what I consider my family home. I am
interested in full spectrum outpatient family medicine with a strong emphasis
on addiction, behavioral, and lifestyle medicine. Along with my wife, our overarching
career goal is to start a practice together that encompasses both Family
Medicine and Psychiatry.
