Research Focus: mTOR activation and regulation of autophagy by mycobacterium
Mentor: Sunhee Lee

Research Statement: Mycobacterium can regulate autophagy to promote bacteria survival, autophagy is an important mechanism that promoe antigen presentation, T cell activation and pathogen clearance, the focus of our research is to understand the mechanism mycobacterium uses to inhibit this process and generate tools to overcome this inhibition to promote better immune response.
