Research Statement: My main interests are understanding the interplay between the virus and the host, looking at mechanisms of viral persistence and vector competence. Throughout my career I have worked in the areas of virology and molecular biology, with viruses of different families, including Poxviridae, Mimiviridae, Togaviridae, Picornaviridae and Flaviviridae.
