Rehabilitation Services Locations League City Campus Staff Meet the League City Staff League City Staff Gregory McGowen, PT, MPT, Cert. MDT × Gregory McGowen, PT, MPT, Cert. MDT Rehabilitation Manager, League City Campus Greg McGowen graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in 1995 and a Masters in Physical therapy from UTMB in 2002. After graduating from UTMB, he began work as a physical therapist specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. He came to UTMB in 2004 as a staff physical therapist in the PCP Rehabilitation Clinic. He became clinic supervisor of the new League City UTMB Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic in 2010. In 2012, he was asked to lead the on-field coverage component of UTMB’s sports medicine program and began volunteering and assisting with sideline coverage at the local high school football games in Galveston. With the continued growth of UTMB in the community, he assisted with the planning and move of the Sports Medicine Clinic into and creation of acute care services in the new League City Campus Hospital in 2016. Currently, he has returned to school to work on his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Lindsay Allen, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT × Lindsay Allen, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT Lindsay earned her doctorate in physical therapy in 2008 from Nova Southeastern University in 2008. Thereafter, she managed an outpatient orthopedic clinic from 2008-2010 in San Diego, California. After moving to Texas in 2010, she completed her Orthopedic Residency training from The Methodist Hospital and became board certified in orthopedics in 2012. She continued at The Methodist Hospital as faculty teaching in both their Orthopedic and Sports Residency Programs. In 2014, she completed her fellowship training and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy. Lindsay has had the opportunity join UTMB in 2013 to help develop, teach and mentor for their Orthopedic Residency program. She recently became a board Certified Sports Specialist. Currently, Lindsay is working with OPTIM Manual Therapy Fellowship to mentor Manual Therapy Fellows as well as develop a Sports Residency at UTMB. Lindsay has extensive experience in professional dance, figure competition as an athlete as well as specialty treatment. She now treats pelvic health conditions at both the Galveston and League City locations. Mercy Becker, PT × Mercy Becker, PT In 1990, Grace received her BS in Physical Therapy from Virgen Milagrosa University, Philippines. Had the opportunity to come to United States of America and had worked in Nursing homes, Hospitals, Home Health and Private/Outpatient Clinics. From her experienced working in different settings in Physical Therapy she started focusing her skills on addressing the pelvic floor disorders including helping those affected by incontinence, voiding dysfunctions, and pelvic pain to improve the quality of their lives and return to normal activities. Grace’s aim is to equip patients with the necessary tools to manage their conditions. She is member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Women’s Health of the American Physical Therapy Association. Grace enjoys spending time with close family and friends, crafting and traveling. Andrew Claypool, PT, DPT, ATC × Andrew Claypool, PT, DPT, ATC Andrew Claypool joined UTMB as a new graduate in 2016 after receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in Upstate New York. Andrew is also a Certified Athletic Trainer with experiences throughout the high school setting, Division I college athletics, and professionally in the National Football League. He is currently completing post-graduate training to receive clinical Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Chad Davenport, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS × Chad Davenport, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS Director of the Orthopedic PT Residency Chad has been at UTMB since 2000. He received a Bachelor’s of Exercise and Sports Science with a Biology minor from Southwest Texas State University in 2000. He then received his Master’s and Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2007 and 2011 respectively. He also APTA Board Certified in Orthopedics and in Sports PT, and holds a Certification in Strength and Conditioning through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Amanda Drake, PT × Amanda Drake, PT Memrie Ferguson, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT × Memrie Ferguson, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT Memrie received her doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2013 and is a graduate of UTMB Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program in 2014. She has just completed her Fellow of the American Association of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). Her broad clinical interests include spinal and extremity dysfunction, neurophysiology of pain and the integration of movement science, and progressive treatment of the injured athlete. Memrie plans to be actively involved in the clinical, academia/research, and community-based facets of the residency program and the physical therapy profession as a whole. She welcomes integration of current evidence based practice with clinical creativity in efforts to pursue productive fun with continuous learning. Aside from career responsibilities, she values spending time with family, friends, faith-based activities, traveling, expanding fitness/wellness and playing basketball as a retired athlete. Random fun fact: Sometime in the future, she would like to receive a pilot’s license. William Ha, PTA × William Ha, PTA Will has been at UTMB since late 2017. He received a Bachelor’s in Health Education with a minor in Kinesiology from the University of Houston in 2009. He developed an interest in Physical Therapy and returned to school to receive his Associate’s in Physical Therapist Assistant in May 2017. Kristopher Jones, OT × Kristopher Jones, OT Nina Hernandez, PT, DPT, OCS × Nina Hernandez, PT, DPT, OCS Nina received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy ( DPT) from UTMB in 2011 and received her Bachelors of Exercise Sports Science with physical therapy emphasis at Texas State University in 2007. She is also APTA Board Certified in Orthopedics and also certified through the APTA for Credentialed Clinical Instructor. She is currently involved in some of the teaching aspects of the pre and post op for the total joint program and with the UTMB’s physical therapy program. Katherine Saalfeld, PTA × Katherine Saalfeld, PTA Kat has been with UTMB since the summer of 2013. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Health from Sam Houston State University in 2010 before deciding to pursue a degree in PTA through Houston Community College where she graduated in May 2013. She is the chair of the Social Committee in the Sports Medicine clinic and loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends when not in clinic. Jasmine Sabbahi-Jones, PT, DPT × Jasmine Sabbahi-Jones, PT, DPT Jasmine graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science as well as her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She works in acute care in the League City Hospital providing care to admitted patients as well as the outpatient clinic. She is one of the teachers of the Total Joint Bootcamp program at League City Campus for patients who plan to undergo a total hip or total knee replacement in addition to assisting in collecting data for a research study regarding outcomes for patients undergoing these surgeries. Alyssa Sweet, PT × Alyssa Sweet, PT Emmanuel Tan, PT × Emmanuel Tan, PT Emmanuel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of the Philippines in 1986. He received his Manual Therapy Certification from the University of Saint Augustine Florida in 1993. He earned a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Houston Clear Lake in 2001. He has been with UTMB for over 30 years. He specializes in Orthopedics, Geriatrics, and Chronic Pain. He is one of a few practitioners that use Frequency Specific Micro Current to treat various ailments. Diane Ugartechea, OTR, MS, CHT × Diane Ugartechea, OTR, MS, CHT Diane has worked at UTMB since 2001. She attained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology at University of Houston in 1999 and a Bachelor's of Science degree Occupational Therapy at UTMB in 2001. Diane is a member of the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, American Occupational Therapy Association and American Society of Hand Therapists. She earned a Master's of Science degree in Fitness and Human Performance at University of Houston - Clear Lake in 2010 where she was awarded the Most Outstanding Graduate as well as graduated with honors. She received her hand certification in 2012. Diane's tenure at UTMB includes inpatient and outpatient experience where the majority of her work has been in upper extremity rehabilitation. Lexi Godlexi, OTR, MOT × Lexi Godlexi, OTR, MOT Lexi has been with UTMB since the summer of 2014. She graduated from Saint Francis University in central Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Health Science with minors in Psychology and Spanish. She also received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Saint Francis University. Lexi has worked in outpatient, focusing on upper extremity diagnoses & is currently working toward obtaining her CHT certification. She is also involved in work programs & is Worksteps certified to perform FCEs. Lexi loves to travel, spend time with family, friends & her wiener dog, Zoey!
