Greg McGowen graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in 1995 and a Masters in Physical therapy from UTMB in 2002. After graduating from UTMB, he began work as a physical therapist specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. He came to UTMB in 2004 as a staff physical therapist in the PCP Rehabilitation Clinic. He became clinic supervisor of the new League City UTMB Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic in 2010. In 2012, he was asked to lead the on-field coverage component of UTMB’s sports medicine program and began volunteering and assisting with sideline coverage at the local high school football games in Galveston. With the continued growth of UTMB in the community, he assisted with the planning and move of the Sports Medicine Clinic into and creation of acute care services in the new League City Campus Hospital in 2016. Currently, he has returned to school to work on his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
