An event was held to honor participants in the recently concluded Dementia Care Study, Supporting Individuals and Caregivers (D-CARE). Dr. Volpi, study support staff, providers, and patient volunteers gathered at Open Gates in Galveston for a luncheon in honor of participants.

This momentous clinical trial, under the direction of Dr. David Reuben at UCLA and Dr. Elena Volpi at UTMB, included over 2,000 people with dementia and their caregivers at four sites across the United States. D-CARE sought to compare the effectiveness of two dementia care interventions versus regular care. This study is recognized as the largest of its kind, aiming to revolutionize dementia care and support services. Read more about the DCARE Study.
