In the latest episode of NETEC’s podcast Transmission Interrupted, hosted by Emory University Hospital’s Serious Communicable Diseases Program, drills and exercises included mystery patient scenarios, PPE training, and full-scale simulations with EMS and public health partners. These activities uncovered real-world challenges—such as traffic flow issues during patient drop-off and gaps in PPE adherence—helping healthcare teams strengthen their ability to identify, isolate, and respond effectively to infectious disease threats.
